Nano and Rockr!

In case you are wondering what the above two words meant, you are not quite up to date with the ipod world. Apple revealed Nano and Rockr yesterday.

Nano is the new mini. The basic change has been to shift from a hard disk player to a flash player. As such is lighter and slimmer. Its available in 2gb and 4 gb models.

Rockr is the new Apple-Motorola phone which is also an ipod that plays around 100 songs. Frankly I do not see how it is of too much value considering other phones can accomodate more songs (Nokia's new N91 has a 4gb capacity). Moreover while other phones can get songs wirelessly, Rockr needs to be synchronised with iTunes. But maybe apple intends to get into the phone + music market slowly not to cannibalise their big ipod market share.
